Messaging without a performance
Blip shows the other person your words as you type them, before you press send. Nothing to polish, no dots to watch. It feels like talking.

The details, briefly
Words, not dots
Everyone in the chat sees your text as you write it. In a one to one chat that starts only once you have both sent something, so a stranger who found your username cannot watch you type.
Drafts do not pile up
Unsent text disappears when you send, clear the field, leave the chat or lose signal. Your own copy stays on your phone for seven days, so a relaunch does not lose your sentence.
Nothing to buy, nothing to watch
Free, with no purchases and no ads. No advertising identifiers, and no analytics or crash-reporting library.
And the normal things
Groups, photos, videos, reactions, blocking, and notifications only if you say yes. Live typing is the only unusual part. The rest works the way you expect.
Straight answers
Is Blip end to end encrypted?
No. Messages travel over TLS and Google Cloud encrypts them at rest, so they are not lying around in the open. But end to end encrypted would mean nobody except you and the people you are talking to could ever read them, and that is not how Blip is built.
Can I turn live typing off?
No. It is the app. In a one to one chat nothing is shared until you have both sent a message, and after that the only way to stay unread is not to type. Treat anything you type in Blip as something you have said out loud.
Who deals with reports?
Andrew does, by hand. You can report a message or a person from inside the app, and reporting a person blocks them too. A report copies the message so there is something to look at. There is no queue, no round-the-clock team, and no turnaround time worth promising. Anything urgent: safety@tryblip.app.
Can I delete my account?
Yes. In the app: Profile, then Delete account. It removes your profile, username, push tokens, blocks and login, and hands any group you created to someone else. The privacy policy lists exactly what is kept, and for how long.
